General Work with Goals

I partner with clients in a creative process to uncover their goals in a broad range of areas. And I work with them to develop concrete plans to reach them.

Career Development

Whether you want a new job in the same field, or want to develop a new career direction, I will be happy to help. I offer my clients reliable and valid interest inventories and creative strategies for skill identification, as well as the most extensive interactive database in the U.S. for current information about nearly 1,000 occupations, O*NET™ Online. I also offer extensive assistance with resume-writing and interviewing skills, and, perhaps most importantly, crucial guidance and moral support throughout the job-seeking process.

Faculty Coach

Combining my work with goals and career development with my experience in higher education, I have a sub-specialty as a faculty coach, working with professors who need to produce manuscripts or books for career advancement.

Stress Management/Life Balance

Women are the busiest people I know, often balancing child-rearing, employment, elder care, relationship with a partner, and a host of other responsibilities. I work with many clients who want to learn how to relax and stay in balance in their busy lives. I teach clients the skills of relaxation that support physical, emotional, and mental well-being and overall enjoyment of life. Depending on your needs and preferences, this may include deep breathing, mindfulness, guided meditation, assertiveness, gratitude practices, Qi Gong (the ancient Chinese practice that works with energy), and many other approaches.

How Coaching Works

I welcome prospective clients to contact me by email or phone for initial exploration of your needs and fee information. In our first one-hour session, I’ll gather additional information from you. At the end of it, I will outline a plan describing the individualized services I recommend and an approximate timeline. I meet with most clients weekly or biweekly, whichever is best to support your momentum toward achieving your goals. I usually give homework between sessions and like to receive a progress report from you at the start of each meeting. I do all that I can to support your moving forward toward your goals.

Payment for services is made at the end of each session by cash, check, or any of the major credit or debit cards.
